Login to IGIS Map Tool. In the Converter screen there are three steps.

Step one is to upload your file, which you want to convert.  I used first option uploaded from system.

Step three is that your file is converted and published on the map. Now you can download it from button found in Action.

KML – Keyhole Markup Language is a GIS format initially  developed for Google Earth while TopoJSON its a extension of GeoJSON that encodes topology it uses arcs. You can convert KML to TopoJSON  file using IGIS Map Tool. You can also use it for other GIS data Conversion.

Login to IGIS Map Tool with registered email id and password or register with valid email id if you are new. From dashboard Go To SWITCH TO and click on Converter.

Step two select the desired output and Coordinate Reference System. And in the end click on Convert File button.

Go To IGIS Map login with registered id and password or register with valid id if you are newbie. After verification mail set password for your account. After login you will be moved to dashboard. ( screen shown below) Tap on SWITCH TO and click on Converter.

Next Screen is the Converter screen shown below with three steps. Step one  upload you file from your system or drive or drop from dropbox. Lets drag & from system. It will take time be patient if file size is big.

Once you file is uploaded you need to select the format of output. If you want different CRS Coordinate Reference System then change it from Change CRS button. In the end tap on Convert File.

Map Matching

Hello GIS learner today in this post we are introducing term Map matching is the linking or matching of observed raw GPS signals shown in below image with green color points with the road segments which the GPS signals actually corresponds. The coordinates of GPS observations are close to the road map but not exactly on it. So map matching is process taking input as raw GPS data and giving output as the actual position of road network.

Why we need Map Matching system?

Now what is the need of map matching, why don’t we use raw data as it is. Map matching problems become complex when the raw GPS data travelled a multi lane road network, even manually distinguish is difficult. Map Matching is used in navigation. Now in the below image you can see the GPS signals in blue navigation but the route is different. In this observation any body can confused with these GPS signals on multi lane. Suppose if you are following these points then you get puzzled when many lanes running simultaneously. It’s a preprocessing method in GIS applications.

In Traffic flow Analysis and in directions Map Matching is useful factor. Aligning GPS across route is termed as Map Matching.

Now we will learn how can we use igis map tool in telecom industry. Go to IGIS Map Tool and login with credentials or register with valid email id.

  • Create a map using  ADD MAP button.

  • Fill the Tittle of the map with description about the map.

  • Now you will be redirected to the canvas of IGIS Map. Here on the base map you see the plot number.

  • Now create a DP –  distribution Point using point layer. Tap on Point icon shown below.

  • Fill the Layer Name. Add attributes for name of the distribution point and ports. You can add multiple ports to a junction.

  • After creating layer go to Add Point in the drop down of layer. Add point in the map. Now create a Polygon layer with attributes. If you are problem in creating layer then check – Create Map layer – Point, Polygon, Line. In the below image we have created multiple junction and houses with fiber cable connections. This type of visualization make your analyzation fast.

  • You can get information about the connected house to which port by clicking on junction point. Through this you can track the line if any issues occur at end users.

  • You can either upload fiber line data (shapefile or any GIS format data) or create line layer. And style your map as per desire. In the below image you can see various DP Junction connected to multiple houses. Fiber cables are also created in the image using line layer.

QGIS Tutorial: Unsupervised classification using KMeansClassification

Unsupervised classification is based on software analysis. It uses computer techniques for determining the pixels which are related and sort them into classes. In this post we doing unsupervised classification using KMeansClassification in QGIS. For supervised classification check earlier articles.

  • Add a raster layer in a project Layer >> Add Layer >> Add Raster Layer.
  • Go to the search box of Processing Toolbox , search KMeans and select the KMeansClassification.

  • Select the input image. Type the Number of classes to 20 (default classes are 5) . Fill training size to 10000.

  • Type the name of output image save to file.

  • And in the last tap on Run

  • Output image directly display on canvas. Image is shown below.

In the layer panel, right click on the output layer and select Properties >> Symbology.  Change Render Type Singleband Psuedocolor.

  • Select the Color Ramp ( we selected spectral)
  • Choose Mode Equal Interval (default selection is continous)
  • Change the number of classes from 5 to 20.

  • In the last click on OK. Output image is provided below. You can also classify according to discrete interpolation if desired.

  • Start a new map >> upload a vector file using add layer in layer in menu bar.
  • Go to Setting menu bar >> select Custom Projections

  • Tap on Add new CRS button for new projection creation shown in below image.

In the Name field fill Van der Grinten I  and in the Parameters fill this string

+proj=vandg +lon_0=0 +x_0=0 +y_0=0 +R_A +a=6371000 +b=6371000 +units=m +no_defs

And in the last click on OK

  • Now click on CRS button in the status bar at the bottom right of QGIS button.

  • Filter the user defined projection, Select and click on OK button.

What is bearing angle and calculate between two Points

In geometry angles are measured regardless of direction or orientation as in trigonometry we measure angle by rotating anti clockwise. Here x-axis is (0) zero degree and y-axis is at 90 degree. So in this article we get familiar with What is bearing and calculate angle between two points. In GIS bearing angle is used for navigation or direction.

Bearing is a direction measured from north and it tracks angle in clockwise direction with north line which means north represents zero degree, east is 90 degrees, south is 180 degrees and west is 270 degrees.

Bearing angle at a point with respect to north at P if we measured clockwise then we see in gif is 065 degrees and at Q it is 300 degrees.

Formula to Find Bearing or Heading angle between two points: Latitude Longitude is

β = atan2(X,Y),

For  variable Ysin(toRadians(lo2-lo1)) *  cos(toRadians(la2))

and variable Xcos(toRadians(la1))*sin(toRadians(la2)) – sin(toRadians(la1))*cos(toRadians(la2))*cos(toRadians(lo2-lo1))

Go to My Places in the left side of the Google Earth App and right click >> tap on Add >> Click folder.

  • Fill the Folder name and description (if any).

  • Next step is to search for first location from where you want to start your tour. Like I am creating tour on seven wonders of world and my first location is Machu Pichu, Peru.

After writing location name click on search button. Then you will be directed to the location.

Now we will insert placemark at this Location. Go to tool bar of Google Earth and tap on Add Placemark icon icon shown below.

Place your place mark where you want. Default color is yellow for pin but you can change it by clicking on pin. Fill the location name.

Fill the description you want to show  on the location when you click on the placemark.

You can insert image directly using Add local image or Add web image by copy the image address.

Tap on OK button after filling details or link.

After placing all location you can click on the with folder shown in below image.

Tour will play after clicking play tour button in the left. Now you can record it by tap on record icon in the tool bar. Once recording is completed you can save the tour or video on your system.
